BIBS pacifiers (facts and tips)

ABOUT BIBS

Because of our world wide successful distribution, people often think that BIBS is a newer American brand of pacifiers. And many also think they are produced in China – BUT in fact BIBS has a completely different background. BIBS is a high quality Danish brand, invented allready in the 80’s and refined for several decades.
Every product are carefully designed and manufactured exclusively at our Headquarter in Hillerød. North of the capital Copenhagen, in Denmark.

BIBS is an flexible organization with a high ceiling and room to realize our full potential. But it is also a company that places great demands on quality and creativity in everything we do. That is why they continue their good and healthy growth.
They have a clear ambition to sell the best baby products – and be the best partner for our customers. Nothing less.

ABOUT PACIFIERS

BIBS COLOUR

A classic round pacifier in a timeless design. Designed and made in Denmark.

BIBS COLOUR has been on the market for over 30 years – and with great success! BIBS COLOUR is the favourite pacifier for many children. The shape of both shield and nipple is like a mother’s breast, and will therefore better support the natural breastfeeding for the child.
BIBS COLOUR is available in 3 different sizes:

The nipple is equipped with a vent hole, letting out the air to make the teat shape naturally like the breast. The nipple is made of 100% natural rubber latex – which is soft and flexible. The rubber is a natural material – colour variations may occur. The shield is convex which allows airflow to ventilate the delicate skin. The shield is made of polypropylene (PP), a very light plastic material with a high strength and is extremely wear-resisting.

Also vailable in a night version.

The pacifier is available in a beautiful color palette with more than 30 different colors. Everything from retro colors such as chocolate, apricot and rust to neutral colors like cloud, ivory and iron. They also come in classic colors such as blush and baby blue.

HOW TO STERILIZE THEM

When cleaning the pacifier, just follow these four simple steps:
1) Put the pacifiers in a clean bowl
2) Pour them with boiling water
3) Let the pacifiers soak for approx. 5 min.
4) Pick them up and let them dry

The vast majority of pacifiers are with valve. If the nipple has a valve, be sure to squeeze excess water out of the seat part when the nipple is sufficiently cooled.

TIP: When the child is over 3 months old, you can also rinse the pacifier by placing them in a sieve and pouring them with boiling water. This method is partly faster and partly avoids water collecting inside the seat part.

Caution! We often receive inquiries from parents who have followed the National Board of Health’s recommendation to cook the pacifier for 5 minutes before first use and daily afterwards. The result is broken pacifiers. DO NOT COOK. They are not meant to be boiled and are therefore destroyed by the high heat.
Instead, follow the instructions above, and you are sure to kill the bacteria without compromising the durability of the pacifier.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I CLEAN THEM?

Part of a good sucking hygiene is frequent cleaning of the pacifiers. The younger the child, the more important it is to protect it from bacteria and to maintain good pacifier hygiene. This is due, among other things, to the fact that the child’s immune system has not yet managed to get acquainted with quite a number of different bacteria, and therefore also will not have learned to “defend” against them yet.
Premature infants and babies up to 3 months need more thorough and frequent cleaning than babies over 3 months of age. Therefore, the pacifier must be cleaned more often when the child is under 3 months.
0-3 months: The pacifier must be scaled every time it has been on the floor. In addition, the pacifier must be scalded at least once a day.
3+ months: Rinse the pacifier once a day and rinse it under the cold tap if it has been on the floor.
